The Future Project Supports MyFarmbase Africa in hosting Agropreneurs and enthusiasts at AgriTech Lab 2019
200 youths, Agriculture enthusiasts, Agropreneurs, investors gathered at Techpoint Headquarters to participate in AgriTech Lab 2019, a programme organized to provide AgriTech skillsand education for participants to plug into the employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in the African Agribusiness Landscape.
Speaking at the event, TFAA Alumni and Founder of MyFarmbase Africa, Aliu Oluwafemi Royal, emphasised that people need to be aware of Agribusiness opportunities to take advantage of it. He said, “this event has been organized to democratize the opportunities in Agribusiness leveraging technology.”
The Founder of Ope Farms, Mrs. Olusola Sowemimo, enthusiastically led the conversation of opportunities for youth in Agribusiness and she dived deep into her experiences in farming. She said, “youths can leverage the numerous opportunities in the Agriculture valuechain including content creation, processing, packaging, marketing etc” and this will help them reap the benefits in the ecosystem.”
The panel session engaged the CTA of the Minister of Agriculture, Ms. Mosunmola Umoru; Opeyemi Agbato, Executive Director, Commercial Operations, Animal Care; Joshua Ajisope, CEO, Farmfunded; David Apenda, Digital Agric Officer, Sterling Bank where they led conversations around multi stakeholders approach to engaging youths in the Agriculture value chain. The panel extensively examined the engagement of Agriculture and the financing mechanism that powers Agribusiness in Africa.
